gaea's revenge is just one of those cards i absolutely love. during my best performing time as a drafter i won 3 out 4 weeks during august when magic origins was out. (i only won a few times not during this streak. i won with a w/b aggro, a mono white "why did you people pass me 2 consul's lieutenants!?" aggro deck that i still have and was the only deck i dominated a draft night with, and a blue/green control list. the 4th week i didnt get a cohesive deck but i got demonic pact and decided to have fun). my 3 pack opens were - gaea's revenge, flip nissa, and alhammeret (when i was already in blue). there was nothing more fun than dropping the revenge on turn 6 or 7 and hitting the opponent for a ton of life out of nowhere. sometimes it was the land topdecked, sometimes it was the revenge, sometimes the sphinx. i had the late game covered and just needed to stall enough to get there. such a fun deck, format, and set

It's kinda funny that Battle of Wits is legal in Commander. 😆

Ring tempting was a great mechanic for limited, but for constructed, its kind of a lot ot words, i admit. I have some in my Doran deck for kind of skulk, though.

Frodo, Sauron's Bane is great fun as a commander with a deck built focused on protection, ring temptations, and making Frodo unblockable. Strong in Kingdoms variant of Commander too.

I have been Waiting for a new Battle of Wits deck! I tried putting a deck list together recently. There aren't as many specific pieces as I thought but the card draw is so much better than the last time I saw BoW gameplay

Ring tempts, dungeons and night and day are the worst mechanics. I don’t even keep track of night and day in arena where the interface does it for me. Needless convolution is so annoying. Only stickers are worse

I think Frodo probably deserves like a 5.62...? Mostly my experience playing against the card in commander games is that it kills one person at the table fairly early, and then does absolutely nothing for the rest of the game, which is a play pattern that I personally find fairly obnoxious. If you like frodo, and you like the ring temping you, I'd suggest you look at the frodo/sam partner commanders instead.

I don't know what ring tempts you does either.

Rubinia is actually my pet commander deck, it wins with stuffy doll and is incredible with pembin’s aura. I don’t play commander often but i put a ton of work into Rubinia

I keep the ring tempting out of any non LOTR decks I have. Just annoying to track.

Eternal Witness is an 8.5 in my book. Solid multiformat card, one of my all time favs, best friends with flicker effects. My all time favorite modern deck was bant ephemerate turns, e wit was a huge part of that deck.

Nerd Rage is a win con for my Bumbleflower deck.

He’s overrating THE Eff outta MockingBird imo. It’s good, it’s not broken good. It’s conditional. You draw it late game and nobody has a creature worth copying. You play it when you’re losing and now you need to block the creature you just copied so the flying moot. You’re getting killed by some enchantment or tokens and it does nothing. I don’t think copying the best creature in play and giving it flying is enough to call it broken.

I play Eldrazi Monument in my Brenard, Ginger Sculptor commander deck. It really shines when sacrificing a creature is turned into an upside, for etb value and stuff. Plus it’s a Bant commander, and aside from some altars and pod effects (also Greater Good and a few other green enchantments), Bant doesn’t have a ton of sac outlets. Or at least none that worked particularly well in my deck :p Also idk if a person who only knew 100 magic cards would know Ewit, but I know that it’s absolutely in the top 100 of everyone who knows it. It is also in Brenard, so it is definitely top 100 in my heart.

I didn't read Mockingbird properly. That's a huge difference. But the one things I don't like about it is other clone cards we've had in the last several years can copy non land permanents. Otherwise it's fantastic

Oh hell yeah as a fellow Mirage enthusiast. The art evoke a lot of feelings in me that a lot of modern sets just don't. Some of it is nostalgia, sure, but some of it is that you don't see as much of a swing in art styles within a single set nowadays

Dewdrop cure is the perfect card for my silly swarmy uw flyer deck in alchemy i was useing the white chorus for mass recursion and it still probably better with ornithopters around but this can always get me three little dudes🤔

So happy to see shelly at least leave alchemy
